OUR MISSION
BPG Home Builders is a mission-driven general contractor focused on providing construction services to projects that advance community development goals. We build with purpose, environmental responsibility, operational discipline, and a deep commitment to equity—expanding opportunity for underserved communities wherever we work. All of our projects are affordable, and many include community or retail spaces that enliven streetscapes and respond to neighborhood needs. We’ve completed several Passive House buildings, one all-electric building, and consistently meet Enterprise Green Communities standards. We create opportunity on our sites through local hiring initiatives, workforce training partnerships such as OSHA certification programs, and strong, ongoing relationships with M/WBE subcontractors. We firmly believe construction is a powerful contributor to community building—and we take pride in delivering durable, high-quality buildings, built with integrity and collaboration, on time and on budget.
OVERVIEW
BPG Home Builders LLC is the construction arm of the affordable housing developer and property manager Bronx Pro Group LLC. The company provides renovation, new construction, and maintenance services. Home Builders also provides pre-construction services to support cost-effective design, site logistics preparation, demolition mobilization, and value engineering when needed. Overall, the company is committed to high-quality construction and a collaborative approach that emphasizes on time and on budget execution.
In 2000, Home Builders 1 LP was found by Peter Magistro to build beautiful and sustainable affordable housing. Home Builders began its work completing preservation projects and then expanded to new construction, successfully completing a diversity of projects, including those adhering to Passive House standards, mixed-use with ground-floor community and retail space, prevailing wage, and larger scale, multi-phase projects such as the Starhill Campus. In addition, the company’s maintenance team oversees the ongoing repairs and capital works for Bronx Pro’s property management portfolios of over 3,500 units throughout New York City.
To build upon the legacy and continue the mission of “Home Builders,” Samantha and Morgan Magistro founded BPG Home Builders LLC, a mission-driven and neighborhood-based WBE general contractor— expected to be NYC M/WBE certified in 2025— dedicated to community development. To date, the organization and its predecessor, Home Builders 1 LP, have completed or are currently constructing 2,813 units across 58 buildings, with a total construction value of $600 million.

SAMANTHA MAGISTRO
Samantha Magistro began her professional career in her family owned company, Bronx Pro Real Estate Management Inc. After four years of working on tax credit compliance, Samantha joined Bronx Pro as an Assistant Project Manager to work on a new preservation project - University Macombs Apartments. While pursuing post-graduate studies at Columbia University, she remained active in her field, interning at the Manhattan's Borough President's Office and holding a part-time position as a Project Manager at Enterprise Community Partners. In 2008, Samantha returned to Bronx Pro fulltime and she currently acts as the Co-Managing Director with the goal of growing and diversifying the company’s investments in affordable housing.
Samantha has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Urban Studies from Barnard College and a Masters of Science in Urban Planning from Columbia University. Samantha is active as a board member of Bronx Community College Foundation, the Citizens Housing and Planning Council, Supportive Housing Network of New York, and the DreamYard Project, all of which reflect her personal commitment to affordable housing and the education of young people in the Bronx. Samantha was very proud to be distinguished at Enterprise’s 30th Anniversary Gala as a next generation affordable housing hero as well as to be honored by the Bronx Borough President during Italian-American Heritage Month.
MORGAN MAGISTRO
Morgan Magistro began her professional career with Bronx Pro in 2004 and joined the company full-time as a Financial Analyst in 2006. By 2009, Morgan was given direct control of the financial operations of Bronx Pro’s property management and development. During her time at Bronx Pro, Morgan successfully restructured the company’s financial systems by implementing profit-seeking budgets and forecasting systems to identify key financial control points and strategies for Bronx Pro’s asset management. Morgan holds a Bachelor of Arts from New York University and Master of Business Administration from Fordham University.
PETER MAGISTRO
Peter Magistro is a long-time real estate investor and owner of multifamily real estate properties in the Bronx. Mr. Magistro began his career at Citibank, where he attained the title of Vice President. His positions at Citibank included Financial Controller, Real Estate Loan Underwriter, and Facilities Director of Real Estate Management/Design and Construction. As the Facilities Director of Real Estate, Mr. Magistro financially controlled and oversaw the construction of major capital projects for the bank in lower Manhattan. In 1988, Mr. Magistro began Bronx Pro Real Estate Management Inc. to perform property management for select clients and later expanded into affordable housing development in 1998.
